New Find: True Food Kitchen in Santa Monica

This past weekend we went to LA to drop off family. While we were in the area I decided to go to Santa Monica Pier. If you ever want to people watch-Santa Monica Pier is the place to be!

After the pier we went across the street to True Food Kitchen for dinner. What a great concept! It had everything I look for in a restaurant.

  • Local ingredients-I was told the food comes from the local farmers market down the street.

  • Family friendly-The children's menu had smaller potions of the adult meals. Meaning, white on white, and white.

  • The restaurant was open and airy. You could see the kitchen and the prep kitchen. To me that's great, M could be loud and no one would care.

  • Fresh and not over done-the restaurant is based on Dr. Andrew Weil’s Anti-Inflammatory Diet & Food Pyramid.

  • It taste good-Everything we had had wonderful flavor.

The Natural-Fresh Ginger, Agave & Soda

Eel River-Acai Berry Wheat Beer. A said it was good.

Hummus and Pita-the pita was so fresh and hot you could smell the yeast. I love the Greek salad on top of the hummus.

M had the chicken teriyaki bowl with tons of vegetables and brown rice.

H had the Panang Thai Curry with brown rice, carrots, potato, broccoli,  ginger, mushroom and coconut broth. She enjoyed it.

My meal was Raw Fish-Albacore Tuna with a crunchy salad on top  and a dressing.  Really good.
